Nicolette Ginjaar has more than 15 years of experience in behaviour support across the Netherlands and Australia, in disability care, youth mental health and youth addiction services. Nicolette holds a Bachelor of Pedagogical Sciences and a Master of Educational Sciences from Radboud University Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
That work has meant supporting people with complex needs, and the professionals who work alongside them. Nicolette’s supervision is grounded in reflective practice, helping behaviour support practitioners build self-awareness, critical thinking and professional confidence.
Nicolette draws on evidence-based practice, solution-focused approaches and a holistic understanding of behaviour. Sessions help practitioners bring theory, research and lived experience together into interventions that make sense in real settings.
Person-centred support sits at the core of this work. Nicolette is interested in what it truly looks like in practice: keeping the person’s strengths, preferences, goals and quality of life at the centre of every decision.
The guiding principle is “connection before correction.” Seek understanding first, build trust, strengthen the relationship, and change that lasts has something to stand on. Nicolette’s style is collaborative and strengths-based, with a safe, respectful space to reflect, learn and grow as a practitioner.
All sessions may be eligible for CPD claim and can be reimbursed through your professional development budget. Documentation is provided for AHPRA, and Occupational Therapy Board requirements.
