Questions about Behavioural Functioning (QABF Assessment) - Presented by Rachel Hardcastle

behaviour support Mar 13, 2025

This training session for behavior support practitioners focuses on the Questions about Behaviour Function (QABF) assessment, a tool designed to identify the underlying functions of challenging behaviours. Participants will learn how to use the QABF to systematically assess and categorise the possible reasons behind problematic behaviour, such as attention-seeking, escape, access to tangibles, or sensory stimulation. The session will guide practitioners through the process of administering the assessment, interpreting the results, and utilising the data to inform individualised behaviour intervention plans. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how the QABF can help pinpoint the function of behaviour, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of interventions and promoting positive behaviour change.
